Christie's Sandy Recovery Problem

Thursday, February 27, 2014

Andrea Bernstein, senior editor for Politics and Policy at WNYC, explains why Chris Christie is sticking by Port Authority chair David Samson, and Matt Katz, New Jersey Public Radio and WNYC reporter, explains how the slow distribution of Sandy aid money is dogging Chris Christie's reputation and further damaging his chances to be the GOP presidential nominee in 2016.

Edward from Washington Heights AKA pretentious Hudson Heights

If Christie thinks he had to kowtow, to kiss Obamas derriere to get Federal funds to recover from Hurricane Sandy, then Christie is a dummy.

If Obama wouldn't help Jersey it would have hurt Obama more than Christie.

Gov. Christie may just be the highest paid prostitute of all time for his bear hug with Obama just before the election. I guess people will do just about anything for controlling the distribution of billions of taxpayer dollars to political supporters. Is anyone shocked that the government is mismanaging this funding and not allowing it to flow to the people who really need help?

Keep up the bridgegate coverage, it is far more important than looking at how these politicians are fleecing us.

How is it that the New York political environment has avoided being poisoned by the types of interest conflicts that seem to be encouraged by Governor Christie and are subject to weekly WNYC attention?
How have Governor Cuomo, Mayor deBlasio, and other important public officials avoided, at least to the satisfaction of WNYC "news reporter-analysts and producers", involvement with persons who are influencing public expenditures for primarily private profit? (or are you intending to highlight those conflicts next week?) ;-)

doesn’t it seem likely that Christie is afraid to fire Samson, that Samson has poison pill info?

"It's a dysfunction agency " said Chrissy
Maybe because the Chrissy gang forced more than 60 patronage puppets on to the PA
It's his dysfunction that's at issue.

Who is lawyer-thug Samson's other "boss" I've heard there are two governors in charge of the GWB. where is the other one hiding. Any chance he/she will step up and take leadership role? Or does Chrissy fear cross state lines?
