How Chris Thile Built An Album Out Of "A Prairie Home Companion"

Since singer, musician, songwriter Chris Thile became host of "A Prairie Home Companion" last fall, he has regularly debuted new songs during the show's live broadcast. Now, he has selected the best songs from those performances, rerecorded them and put them together for a new album he calls “Thanks for Listening." He shares how he writes new songs for "A Prairie Home Companion" shows and what it was like selecting tracks for the album.

"Thanks for Listening" will be released on Nonesuch Records on Dec. 8, with vinyl to follow on Dec. 15.

Event: A Prairie Home Companion with Chris Thile will be live at The Town Hall for three Saturday performances starting Saturday, December 2 through Saturday, December 16 at 5:45 p.m. For tickets and more information, visit the WNYC events page.
