Poets Tracie Morris, Stacy Szymaszek, and Eileen Myles discuss The Poetry Project’s 50th Anniversary celebration. The Project is celebrating with a New Year’s Day Marathon Reading, which features poets and other artists from throughout its history, alongside new and emerging poets. Morris is a poet who has worked as a page-based writer, sound poet, critic, singer, scholar, bandleader, actor and multimedia performer. Myles is a poet, novelist and performer whose books include Chelsea Girls, I Must Be Living Twice, selected poems and The Importance of being Iceland/travel essays in art. Szymaszek, who serves as the Executive Director of The Poetry Project, is a poet, editor, and arts administrator. She is the author of the books Emptied of All Ships (2005), Hyperglossia (2009), hart island (2015) and, Journal of Ugly Sites and Other Journals (2016), which won the Ottoline Prize from Fence Books.
