This is disgusting. I'm simply sick to my stomach...

Oh wait -- now I'm hearing about asking listeners to do the reporting -- on behalf of the reporter! *Free Transform*

Stories about WNYC reporters -- it ain't exactly covering the world, but I'll take it!

Where the Buck Stops, Some See a Bystander – NEW YORK TIMES

“President Obama has been under fire for his seeming detachment from significant matters, like spying on allied heads of state and the rollout of the health insurance website. In both instances, his explanation roughly boils down to this: I didn’t know.
Mr. Obama’s plea of ignorance may do less to deflect blame than to prompt new questions about just how much in charge he really is.”

Oh, NOW they notice at the NYT??!!

Oh, no!! Ruth Marcus, uber-Leftie Obamaniac at the Wash Post on Obama's second term and her discovery of his incompetence-

"In thermodynamics, entropy is a measure of the energy unavailable for useful work. The description feels disconcertingly apt for the chaotic reality of the Obama administration's second term. The menu of current problems feels far more perilous because these go to issues of core competency to govern."

GOSH, NOW SHE TELLS US !

"How do we blame Bush for the border crossing incident to your staff member?"

Great! LOL, only Brian Lehrer, WNYC and the rest of the self-absorbed white liberal media could deflect blame from Obama to the point of absurdity. Even left-of-center foreign governments no longer pretend to ignore his incompetence.

"You wanted Obama, you got this inexperienced totalitarian control freak and his like minded administration."

BRAVO .... well said.

I'm sure you would John.

It was terrible how those border guards injured killed and maimed those innocent people! Oh wait those people were killed and maimed by people legally in this country! Maybe they should have been examined a bit more closely

Shelly Shelly always with the jab. Border searches are a first year course in Law school. I just love the way the 5th estate wants special treatment.

Shelly I would get you life or the chair for a trafic violation.

How many screw ups are allowed before you realize this administration is doing far more damage than good? Keep glossing over the real issues facing this country to keep this group in power. A news organization with true journalist would cut thrpigh the politics and write about the facts.

Our elected officials have let us to where we are now:

Stagnant economy with no realistic plan for fixing it
More people on food stamps than ever before
Affordable care act fiasco
Drone strikes
iRS targeting specific groups for political gain
Benghazi Libya
Divided government not serving the people
Out of control spending and debt with little to show for it
International relations in the toilet

Great job

"the rules for a search at a border or port are not the same as that on a public street. The border guards are doing their job."

Fair enough but the point was - what exactly are the rules for US citizens?

John - I'm not sure what kind of law you practice but I will never use you to represent me.

you wanted Obama, you got this inexperienced totalitarian control freak and his like minded administration. Bush was all about privatizing and putting taxpayers money to this fear industrial complex, but at lest he didn't have this inferiority complex about national security issues and know to hire and fire people. But Obama is not only useless and virtual, b ut very harmful. hope, after Obama the Progressives and Occupiers is going to purge the Dems as the tea party purges the GOP

it doesn't matter if you have done anything wrong or not - in this type of situation you'll be in the hands of people who have a license to do whatever they want and your civil liberties will go out the window - especially if you're not white. not having a right to know why you're being detained - for hours at a time? sounds like some middle eastern country where people have no rights.
Land of the Free this is not.

Well if this is the policy why should journalists be treated any differently? Now you want your donors to not only donate but also do YOUR job!!

The Obama administration has created a police state...I love the faux outrage. The NPR should have just put on a serape and sombrero...they would have let her right in without a passport.

Oct. 30 2013 10:14 AM

Ron Paul and Rand Paul (among others) have been bitching about DHS for years...late to the dance but it's nice to have the BL Show championing it now.

No one should be blaming Bush here. Obama has not pulled back on a single DHS edict or policy.

How about going to your CURRENTLY ELECTED NYS Senator or Representative?

Brian, Brook and WNYC, the rules for a search at a border or port are not the same as that on a public street. The border guards are doing their job.

My brother and his family were held and searched on the way to Canada, by the border guards from Canada. They were doing their jobs.

I guess WNYC employees should just be waived through the border in the future ?

How do we blame Bush for the border crossing incident to your staff member? I'm guessing we won't hear anout the 60 minutes piece on the spontaneous uprising in Libya that took the lives of 4 people as well. Does the station need more money to beef up its top notch reporting?

This happened to me pre-911 (1995 or 6) and not of muslim decent. When taking a ferry to Victoria, I was held by the Canadian border patrol for several hours and on the way back to Seattle, the same by the US without any reason.
