Bringing the Backstage to Light in “10 Out of 12”

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jul 8, 2015

Playwright Anne Washburn and actor Thomas Jay Ryan discuss their production, “10 Out of 12.” In it, a company of theatre artists is engaged in the task of making a new play. Based on notes Washburn took during her past technical rehearsals, it takes place during a technical rehearsal, re-creating the multi-layered experience of designers mixing cues, backstage gossip happening over headset and actors passing the time while the director struggles to contain the uncontainable. At the Soho Rep through July 18.
