BRIC Opens Arts & Media Center in Downtown Brooklyn

WNYC News | Oct 4, 2013

The arts organization behind the Celebrate Brooklyn Festival has opened an arts and media center in Downtown Brooklyn. And it's introducing itself to the neighborhood with a block party.

Saturday’s party at the newly opened BRIC House on Fulton Street will have live musical performances and will include food trucks and family activities.

Leslie Schultz, president of BRIC, said the building was designed to make everyone feel welcome.

“The minute you walk in, you say this space is for me. This is the space I belong. Even if you're not really used to going into arts facilities,” Schultz said

BRIC House includes a contemporary arts gallery, a performance space and a television studio. It will host monthly dance parties.
