Doreen from Sunnyside

Brian - Did Niall O Dowd not mention that the Mayor DID march in the St. Pats for All Parade in sunnyside - which is a great fun local parade and organised by the LBGT community. I don't think this shoud be about the Mayor at all. He made his decision not to march in the 5th Ave. one based on his principles which is totally fine! I agree with the caller that said it's up to the Irish community to put pressure on the Parade Organisers more than the Mayor. I have an idea for a compromise though - have the Parade Committee carry a sign first " All views expressed in the parade are not supported by the parade committe - a disclaimer like they have on TV :) - the content of this show does not express the views of the station - and then let people carry thir banners after the disclaimer! FYI I'm Irish born and have been here 24 years and I voted for Di Blasio. I am against the ending of the Carriage Horses business. IF there is any mistreatment of animals, that should be be addressed of course but honestly I think those older horses would already be put down if they were not working. Also the argument is that the horses should not breath in the exhaust fumes - what about people breathing it in every day! And perhaps your show can investiage further - I heard real estate developers are behind some of the push to end the Carriage Horses business because the stables are located in a prime real estate area. Thanks!

if this story doesn't beg for the the decoupling of the insurance industry from the practice of medicine, I don't know what does.
