Bonus Weekend Podcast: From the Stage to the Tonys
The Tony Awards are this Sunday, and it would be hard to deny that this year has seen an explosion of new interest in theater. For our Bonus Weekend Podcast, we bring you three interviews with actors and directors whose works have become hits on Broadway, and who are some of the biggest contenders for a Tony award this Sunday. Back in January, Leonard spoke to actors Andrea Martin, Campbell Scott and Megan Hilty about Roundabout Theatre Company’s Broadway revival of “Noises Off.” Last Thursday, “Hamilton” director Thomas Kail, along with stars Daveed Diggs and Leslie Odom, Jr. dropped by to talk about the performance that garnered a record-breaking 16 Tony nominations. And the very next day Jessica Lange, Gabriel Byrne and Michael Shannon came to the studio to talk about the Roundabout Theatre Company Production of Eugene O’Neill’s “Long Day’s Journey Into Night.” It was a great week.
