On Monday, we spoke with Michael Kimmelman and Vishaan Chakrabarti about proposed changes to Penn Station, and how they could affect millions of commuters every day. New York seems like a city that is always changing, and changes to Penn Station are badly needed, yet for this week’s Bonus Weekend Podcast, we thought we’d look at some important ways New York has preserved its architectural legacies. In 2008, Anthony Wood discussed his book “Preserving New York: Winning the Right to Protect A City's Landmarks.” In 2013, Sam Roberts of The New York Times talked about the centennial of Grand Central Terminal. And in 2014, Andrew Berman, executive director of the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation, and Michael Kimmelman, joined Leonard to discuss protecting Greenwich Village from over-development.
