When Michael Lewis was on our show on Thursday, he explained that the groundbreaking research of Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky, the subjects of his latest book, built the foundation for the types of unconventional thinking that produced such dramatic results for Billy Beane, general manager of the Oakland Athletics, and Michael Burry, the renegade hedge fund manager. So for this week’s Bonus Weekend Podcast, we have decided to revisit these conversations, and hopefully restore your faith in the power of unconventional thinking. In 2003, we spoke with Michael Lewis about his book Moneyball, and in 2010 he returned to the show for his book The Big Short. In 2011, Daniel Kahneman himself was on our show to talk about his groundbreaking research and his book Thinking Fast and Slow.
