Bonus Weekend Podcast: James Comey, The FBI, And J. Edgar Hoover

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jun 10, 2017

The congressional hearing of former FBI director James Comey has dominated the headlines all week, and the repercussions from the hearing could affect the Trump administration for months. So for this week’s Bonus Weekend Podcast, we thought we’d focus on James Comey, as well as a look at the FBI and some of its controversial history. Last March, Leonard spoke with Vanity Fair contributing editor Bethany McLean about her article for the magazine “The True Story of the Comey Letter Debacle.” In 2013, Trevor Aaronson discussed his book The Terror Factory: Inside the FBI's Manufactured War on Terrorism. And back in 2007, Washington lawyer Kenneth Ackerman described the early years of J. Edgar Hoover’s life…before he was chosen to run the FBI.
