Bonus Weekend Podcast: Chilling Stories About Global Warming

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jul 15, 2017

The thermometer has been climbing and the weather can be stifling at times, but recent news about rising global temperatures has been positively chilling. This week, it was widely reported that a massive iceberg broke off from its shelf in Antarctica. So for this week’s Bonus Weekend Podcast, we are revisiting three stories about global warming. In 2014, Leonard spoke with McKenzie Funk about the booming business of global warming. In 2015, the psychologist and economist Per Espen Stoknes explained how we can tell the story of climate change to get more people to accept it. And that same year, New Yorker Staff Writer Elizabeth Kolbert joined us to discuss her story about how flooding can dramatically change Miami by the end of the century.
