Journalist and author John Pomfret served as a correspondent for The Washington Post for two decades, covering wars, revolutions, and China. In his latest book, The Beautiful Country and the Middle Kingdom: America and China, 1776 to the Present, he details the history of the 200 year-old relationship between the United States and China, from the Revolutionary War to the present day.
