In Eating Asian America: A Food Studies Reader (NYU Press, 2013), editor Robert Ku, associate professor of Asian and Asian American Studies at Binghamton University and author of Dubious Gastronomy: The Cultural Politics of Eating Asian in the USA, and contributor Lok Siu, associate professor & coordinator of the Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies program at UC Berkeley, share their scholarly take on the politics of Asian American food.

WHaat Brian? How did the Black community end up in this conversation? and is that the stereotype, really fried chicken? watermelon? Everyone knows southern whites are the biggest consumers of both. Why did you not use a bagel and lox reference?

But Tran is a 1st generation immigrant from Vietnam. He still has that taste aesthetics from his original home.

And many cooks in Chinatown and Flushing also are 1st generation immigrants. Most Chinese kids born here don't want to make a career in Chinese cooking.

Could you ask these 2 professors why their book costs $75 as a hardcover textbook? Seems like taking advantage of their students -- a captive audience required to buy the book for classwork.
