2016 will be remembered for many things, not the least of which is the loss of some of music’s greats: David Bowie, Prince, Sharon Jones, Leonard Cohen, and on Christmas, George Michael.
George Michael rose to fame as one half of the music duo, Wham!. He went on to have a successful solo career and is said to be one of the biggest selling British acts of all time. In 1998 Michael was forced out of the closet after an arrest in Beverly Hills and was charged with "engaging in a lewd act." Once out, he became an outspoken advocate for the LGBT community.
