Andy Warhol, Computer Artist

Here's something I never knew. Andy Warhol was a fan of the Commodore Amiga, a personal computer line from the mid eighties. Warhol used his Amiga to create drawings using the computer's built in paint program.

Here's a video of Warhol drawing Debbie Harry on an Amiga.

Artist Cory Arcangel and Carnegie Mellon University's Computer Club helped extract a bunch of old Andy Warhol computer art that had been saved on old diskettes. What is Carnegie Mellon University's Computer Club? "a student organization that had gained renown for its expertise in “retrocomputing,” or the restoration of vintage computers." Pretty neat.
