Amy Bloom's Lucky Us: A Small Town Girl Living in a Lonely World

Friday, August 15, 2014

Amy Bloom talks about her new novel, Lucky Us. It’s set in 1940s America and tells the story of Iris and Eva, two women in search of fame and fortune. Iris’s ambitions take the pair from small-town Ohio to sensuous Hollywood and to the jazz clubs and golden mansions of Long Island, meeting people who love, lie, and cheat to survive.

Could you ask Ms. Bloom why she decided to tell so much of the story of the sisters relationship through Iris's letters to Eva?
