The Brian Lehrer Show | Jun 25, 2015
Polly Trottenberg, the commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation and Mitchell Silver, the commissioner for the city's Department of Parks and Recreation, discuss the plan to make certain parts of Central and Prospect Parks permanently car-free.
"Most of Prospect Park will be car-free most of the time," says @NYC_DOT commish Polly Trottenberg. And no cars in Central Park above 72 St.

Plus Prospect Park's West Drive will be completely closed to car traffic, starting in early July.

"This decision had nothing to do with the affluence of one side of the park or the other," says @mitchell_silver. It had to do with traffic.
