'Take Me Out' at Second Stage, Update with Kate, Costume Designing for 'Nightmare Alley', Listening Party with Stromae, BAM's Spring Music Series

The latest play from Richard Greenberg tells the story of a professional baseball player who decides to come out of the closet, releasing a barrage of prejudice from his teammates that he wasn't prepared for. Greenberg, director Scott Ellis, and star Jesse Williams join us to discuss their revival of the 2002 play, "Take Me Out," which runs at the Second Stage Theater through June 29.

We continue our series, "The Big Picture," spotlighting Oscar nominees who aren't actors or directors. Today, we speak with costume designer Luis Sequeira, who is nominated for an Oscar for his work on the film, "Nightmare Alley." He joins us to discuss nailing the period costumes and his process for dressing each character.

Multitude is Belgian musician Stromae's first studio album in eight years, following a hiatus imposed by physical and mental health struggles. The new album explores many of those experiences and others from that period, through music that dances between hip-hop, europop, cumbia and more. Stromae joins for a Listening Party.

BAM's Spring Music Series, curated by poet and critic Hanif Abdurraqib, runs through May 22 and celebrates Black music in various forms, featuring performances from Moses Sumney, Devonté Hynes, Mavis Staples, Little Simz, and Tuareg guitarist Mdou Moctar. On March 23, R&B singer Dawn Richard will bring her "Electro Revival" tour to the series and perform from her latest album, Second Line. Abdurraqib and Richard join us to preview her show and discuss the rest of the festival.
