Loathsome Mr. Fox

On the Media | Sep 9, 2016

Two months ago, former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson filed a lawsuit against Fox News founder and CEO Roger Ailes, alleging sexual harassment and intimidation. Ailes fervently denied the allegations...unaware that Carlson had been covertly recording his harassment behind closed doors for over a year. By the end of July, Ailes was out at Fox News, and this week Carlson accepted a $20 million settlement from 21st Century Fox.

Gabriel Sherman is National Affairs editor at New York Magazine and Ailes' biographer. Brooke spoke with Sherman about his recent cover story, “The Revenge of Roger’s Angels,” and the culture of fearful compliance that Ailes built at Fox News.
