When it comes to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, President Donald Trump made a stunning reversal on Tuesday. Speaking from Trump Tower in New York City, the president said that counter-protesters demonstrating against neo-Nazis and white supremacists were also to blame for this weekend's events, which left at least one woman dead and 19 injured.

His comments shocked and angered many Democrats and Republicans, but many Trump supporters who voted for the president in November are pleased with the commander-in-chief's response.

Here, The Takeaway hears from Matt Olson, a supporter in Wisconsin; Kevine Lonie in New Hampshire; and Kenneth Lanci in Ohio.

This segment is hosted by Todd Zwillich.
