AFL-CIO President On Immigration Reform

Supporters of immigration reform are planning a weekend of activities to pressure the House of Representatives to follow the Senate’s lead and approve immigration reform.

At the same time, opponents of immigration reform are vowing to keep up the fight.

The Senate passed immigration reform a year ago today, but the issue can’t gain any traction in the House.

Yesterday, we had a live conversation with Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO, in which we discussed the minimum wage.

In the second part of our conversation, we ask him about immigration reform, and the relationship between immigrants and labor.
