A U.S. Army Special Forces Soldier watches Afghan Commandos while patrolling a village in Paktia province, Afghanistan near the Pakistan border, on Nov. 30.

Last month President Obama authorized the deployment of 500 special forces soldiers to train and advise Iraqi security forces in response to ISIS's sweeping advances. Major Jim Gant a former special forces commander, and his wife and war correspondent Ann Scott Tyson, join us to talk about what the advisers will be doing, Gant's unconventional tactics as an adviser, and how they got kicked out of Afghanistan. Ann Scott Tyson is the author of  American Spartan: The Promise, the Mission, and the Betrayal of Special Forces Major Jim Gant (William Morrow, 2014).
