Friday, August 27, 2010

These days, if you're down around the site of the planned Islamic cultural center and mosque two blocks from Ground Zero, you might find a few protesters. But mostly you'll find a New York neighborhood going about its usual business.

I am a Muslim and to everyone who is in support of the Mosque, thanks...shows how much respect you guys have. I can understand in a way why people are against it, well mainly because they have nothing better to do then to start judging, but then again...there are already Mosques in that area and besides that, whatever goes on in a Mosque is farrrr from anything related to terrorism, actually the opposite. People pray there, not come up with the next terrorist act. Ignorance is a joke...just have to laugh at it because it's so common nowadays :/

Having been working in lower Manattan for 16 years, mostly all local residents and businesses have no problem with the Park51 community center. Most people who object to this are not even in the area. I think its a great idea. Lower Manhattan needs to rebuild. If you walk through Lower Manhattan now a days, all you see is "For Rent" signs. To all the opposers, please help rebuild. Don't be an obstacle.

"We're gonna get hit again??" LOL. Nice try, bigot. Does he not realize that NYC has already had 2 mosques for a number of years, and NONE of them have produced terrorists? What ignorance!

Remember 9/11? Lol. No! How about YOU move on and stop acting like 9/11 happened yesterday? Just let the wound close! Stop pretending like it's such a big freaking deal NINE YEARS LATER. Seriously, this nonsense has got to stop. You can't act like petulant children, using 9/11 to get your way for anything you want.

Great piece. I hope people who don't live in NYC watch this and see that this is a real place with real people - not just a battleground for ideologies.

Here's how one of the foreign press outlets reports on the Ground Zero Mosque controversy as they travel around the area.
9/11 Ground Zero: No to Mosque, Yes to Strip Club?
There is a controversy raging in America about whether or not to build a Mosque two block from ground zero. NDTV's Sarah Jacob took a walk around ground zero to see just how "sacred" it is.

I love the silence; no music or narration. Very engaging. Thank you
