Mr. Sidney Schanberg has asked since the Nixon administration to open the files on the
Nixon pull out of Vietnam. They have not and according to Senator McCain will never be opened and see the light of day.
North Vietnam, it is said, demanded ransom money, for the POW-MIA's which Nixon refused yo pay. The amount of ransom North Vietnam sought was a great sum.
It is said and believed by many that Nixon did not want headlines announcing his payment of ransom for our American prisoners in the newspapers as he
planned his reelection campaign for his second term as president.
He won a second term--but was forced
out of the presidency by his own misdeeds.
Sidney Schanberg can provide the facts on this matter. Unless you personally know there is no proof of POW's left behind--listem Mr. Schanberg.
I know a family whose son was an MIA-POW who met with Kissinger at the Peace Treaty negotiations in Paris. He was not
satisfied with the answers from Kissinger.

Ask Senator John McCain why he does not want the files opened? He has fought their disclosure to the public for years.

Please have Mr. Schanberg on more often. He is an excellent guest.

Thanks for bringing my comment to Mr. Schanberg's attention, but there is no evidence to support his assertion that we left behind hundreds of P.O.W.'s. On this subject he comes off as a crank.

This interview is a nice counterpoint to the previous fawning interview conducted by Miles.

Does Mr. Schanberg still insist that there were American P.O.W.'s being held by North Vietnam after the American pull-out?
