Vetting Islamic Center and Mosque Money

Wednesday, August 04, 2010 - 09:18 AM

Democratic congressional candidate Reshma Saujani was part of a Fox News panel this morning discussing, among other things, the Islamic center slated for near Ground Zero.

When asked if she had any concerns about funding for the project, or about the developers having ties to terrorists, Saujani said she had no concerns, but that “everybody should be vetted.”

“I think we need to make sure none of the funding is coming from any terrorist organization,” Saujani said. “I think we need a process to do that.”

Who’d oversee the vetting process?

“This is where I think the community board can get involved and get engaged in doing that,” she said.
