Just what did Governor Paterson say when he called the woman trying to press charges against gubernatorial aide David Johnson?

Here's a transcript of Paterson's voice mail message to Sherr-una Booker, according to Judith Kaye's report, released Wednesday:

Sherri, this is David. You should see the way they wrote this story. They’re trying to make it look like I pressured you into dropping this court case. Please help me. Your lawyer – his statement makes it sound the same way. Um, I mean – I was trying to find out about the rumors involving myself. You placed the call to me around ten minutes to four on Sunday, February the 7th – it was the day of the Superbowl. And, um, in the conversation, we just talked about the things that – that – you didn’t say anything about me, and I didn’t say about you. Then we went on to talk about other stuff, but – I hope, uh – you remember that I was not trying to make you do anything, and – I hope your lawyer will do something to help me here, because this, uh, doesn’t look good for me, and I wasn’t in this. And this is exactly what they’re after. And I – I was just not in this and didn’t – um, you know – want to play a role in it. And, to be honest with you, I believe you. So – um, anyway, uh – if you can help to clear this up, because it – that portrayal, that conversation – we didn’t talk for one minute, we talked for ten or fifteen minutes. And, um –I did tell you that I was there for you, and you could call me. But I wasn’t doing it to try to trade it for you dropping the ca- I didn’t even know the court date was Monday, to be honest with you. I’ll talk to you later.

Things should not look for David Paterson.

David Paterson should face criminal charges over a domestic-violence scandal involving a close aide. Since David Paterson has already indicated that he will not run for re-election, Judith Kaye is just trying to make the matter go away.

The fact of the matter is that David Paterson engaged in a GROSS ABUSE of office by engaging in obstruction of justice by intimidating a victim of domestic not to press charges, and then tried to up and make the incident just “go away”.

Then we had assertions from the Commission on Public Integrity that he violated to public officers law by taking gifts from lobbyists, and worse that he lied under oath about the matter – PERJURY.

What is much more disturbing to many than the incompetence of David Paterson and his people, indicated in the above report, are the blatant transgressions of law David Paterson and his staff has engaged in - lying under oath/perjury, covering up a domestic violence assault, obstruction of justice, and ethics violations. These actions should not be tolerated.

David Paterson proved long ago that he could not govern. “The Democratic Conference: Organizational and Operational Structure Report” is an eyewitness account of Paterson’s DYSFUNCTIONAL governing nature while Senate Minority Leader.

Paterson’s office was criticized for PATRONAGE, LACK OF LEADERSHIP, INDECISIVENESS and INFIGHTING, set against a backdrop of general CHAOS – in other words the office, a ZOO. Those interviewed in the report indicated that its chief of staff the disorganized Michael Jones-Bey had no management skills, and would get DRUNK with staff, often coming in the office with a HANGOVER, and should be fired.

Amazingly, for running such a DYSFUNCTIONAL CHAOTIC office, the disorganized Michael Jones-Bey was hand picked by David Paterson to mismanage the Division of Minority & Women Owned Business Development (MWBE) at Empire State Development Corporation.

Now that’s the Paterson Way - being rewarded for your incompetence.

David Paterson and all his friends that he has placed in jobs need to be cleaned out…GET HIM AND THEM OUT NOW.
