Remembering Brooklyn Marine Lance Corporal Julian Brennan

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Brooklyn Marine Lance Corporal Julian Brennan was killed in Afghanistan last January. Contrary to the image of the tough soldier, Brennan was also a trained actor, singer and a budding writer. Brennan's parents spoke to WNYC’s Kathleen Horan about his 25 years of life. This Veterans Day, Horan returns to talk to his family.

Moving and articulate memories and reflection. "Sad beauty" indeed. Grief casts an artistic, wise light on everything it touches. Special people are able to take note of it. And this interview is special. -knowlengr
