(Post was updated at 2:05)

West Side IRT express service is disrupted today, thanks to a train derailment at Park Place. No.1 local service is running, though with delays, but there are no 2 or 3 trains between 14th Street and Nevins Street in Brooklyn, and few of them are traveling between 14th Street and Times Square.

A Brooklyn-Bound No.2 train derailed at Park Place Station around 9:20 this morning. The cause is under investigation. No one was hurt.

The first car had arrived at the platform when one wheel jumped its track. Passengers had to walk to the front of the train to get out.

Officials say they have removed the disabled train and are trying to repair the tracks in time for the evening rush.

Here are service details as of 2:05, from the MTA.

Due to a train with ongoing mechanical problems at the Park Place Station:

2 train service is running on the 5 line between the 149th Street-Grand Concourse Station and the Nevins Street Station in both directions.

Selected Flatbush Avenue-bound 2 trains are running between the Wakefield-241st Street Station and the 14th Street Station.

There are no 3 trains in both directions between the Times Square-42nd Street Station and the Nevins Street Station.

As an alternative, customers are advised to use nearby r and w trains at the City Hall Station or a and c trains at the Chambers Street Station.

Please expect delays in 1, 2 and 3 train service at this time.
