The 33rd District covers Greenpoint, parts of Williamsburg, Vinegar Hill, Dumbo, Brooklyn Heights, part of downtown Brooklyn, Boerum Hill, Gowanus and northern Park Slope.

NAME: Isaac Abraham
BIO: A hardware store owner, Abraham is a Hasidic activist who lives in Williamsburg. He counts Mitchell-Lama housing, Woodhull Hospital and Hatzolah, a volunteer ambulance corps, among his many causes.

NAME: Kenneth Baer
BIO: Baer, an accountant, was chair of the New York State Sierra Club from 2003 until last year, during which time the group joined lawsuits against Atlantic Yards and the Brooklyn Bridge Park.

NAME: Douglas J Biviano
BIO: Biviano was trained as a civil engineer but now works as a building superintendent in Brooklyn Heights. He worked on Dennis Kucinich’s 2008 presidential campaign.

NAME: Kenneth A Diamondstone
BIO: An openly gay candidate, Diamondstone ran unsuccessfully for the state Senate three years ago. He has served on Community Board 2, the board of the Independent Neighborhood Democrats and the executive board of the Lambda Independent Democrats. He is an affordable housing developer by profession.

NAME: Stephen T Levin
