Stimulus Announcements Flooding In..

Monday, April 06, 2009

Now that the New York state budget has passed, Governor Paterson is losing no opportunity to tell us how he's spending the state's $24 billion in stimulus funding. Today, it was housing money and money for Long Island Infrastructure. Late last week it was bike paths and water infrastructure. .

The press releases are all careful to establish their upstate bona fides -- the money's going to Rochester! Syracuse! Rome! In fact, you had to read deeply into today's on housing (which is essentially re-funding affordable housing projects that were stalled because they lost their other funding) to find out there was money for Harlem. But expect more along these lines, from Paterson and Gov. Corzine of NJ, too. They'll all say this: Money's coming. Job's will be created. Watch this space for updates.
