New Traffic Plan

Tuesday, October 15, 2002

A plan to speed up traffic in midtown Manhattan goes into effect today with drivers barred from making turns off ten busy crosstown streets. The streets are designated as through streets on weekdays between 10 am and 6 pm. Those streets are 36th, 37th, 45th, 46th, 49th, 50th, 53rd, 54th, 59th and 60th streets. Drivers will be allowed to turn onto those east-west streets but will be barred from making turns off them between Third and Sixth avenues. For more information, click here.
