No Answers From Bloomberg at Forum

Monday, April 11, 2005

Mayor Bloomberg is being criticized for leaving a candidates' forum in Queens yesterday without taking any questions. It was the first time the Mayor and all his potential challengers from both parties were in the same room.

Today Bloomberg said he would wait to see who he is actually running agianst before committing to a debate.

BLOOMBERG: Until then I'll stay out of the Democratic primay. I don't know who is really running in the Rpublican primary. We'll see what happens as we get closer to the primaries.

Under the city's camapign finance laws, Mayor Bloomberg is not obligated to debate his challengers because he is self-financing his campaign.
