Fans and Friends React to Cory Lidle’s Death

Thursday, October 12, 2006

New York Yankee Jason Giambi says he's "in a state of shock" over the sudden death of teammate Cory Lidle.

Lidle and another person were killed when the small plane they were flying slammed into a Manhattan high-rise apartment yesterday. Federal investigators say there was no mayday beforehand. They say it's too early to determine what caused the crash. The crash on the Upper East Side of Manhattan briefly raised fears of another terrorist attack.

Lidle leaves behind a wife and 6-year-old son. His twin brother, Kevin, says Lidle’s parents are "obviously having a tough time."
