Long Road to Recovery for Victims of Harlem Explosion

A man whose wife and 4 young daughters were badly burned in an explosion in Harlem over the weekend says the girls remain "in very bad condition." Rassas Alghaithi tells The New York Times that his daughters, who are between 1 and 5 years old, are wrapped in bandages with only their eyes visible. And he says his wife, who is burned across a large percentage of her body, is not likely to survive. A leaky kitchen gas hose is being blamed for Saturday's explosion. A Fire Department spokesman says fire marshals believe natural gas leaked from the flexible hose connection behind a stove in a 1st floor apartment.
