Mayor Bloomberg denies using questionable tactics to repeal law

Mayor Bloomberg is denying accusations that he's abusing his power in order to drum up support for his bid to change term limits.

BLOOMBERG: We're out there, promoting, trying to rally people to support the administration's position. That's what we're supposed to do. But we do it appropriately. I don't think we've come anywhere close to crossing the line.

REPORTER: Yesterday, two likely mayoral candidates, City Comptroller Bill Thompson and Congressman Anthony Weiner criticized the mayor for asking nonprofits to support an extension of term limits.

They say the groups depend on Bloomberg for millions in private donations and city contracts. Thompson said the mayor's strategy borders on coercion.
