Get-Out-the-Vote Rallies Held Around the City

Sunday, November 02, 2008

A Harlem get out the vote Saturday was one of several events held around the city to encourage people to show up at the polls on Election Day.

REPORTER: Harlem State Senator Bill Perkins, one of several elected officials at the event, says they're not taking anything for granted.

PERKINS: We're having rallies, and breakfasts, and talking to our poll workers our inspectors to inform that they're aware of the rules that allow people to vote and what do if they're problems.

REPORTER: Officials encouraged the crowd to be patient, since long lines are predicted.
