WTC Site Gets New Look From Fence

Monday, November 17, 2008

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is giving the World Trade Center site a face-lift.

The dark tarps surrounding the 16-acre construction site were replaced on Sunday with eight-foot-high renderings of the September 11 memorial, skyskrapers, and the transit hub planned for the site.

Lower Manhattan resident Stan Kulp says he just wants to see his neighborhood rebuilt and questions what's happening with the project.

KULP: I don't know if they're actually going to build that transit center the way it looks in the picture right now because they're having a huge problem getting the money for it.

REPORTER: The construction is expected be done between 2012 and 2014.
