Local Palestinian Reaction to Violence in Gaza

Monday, January 05, 2009

As the fighting in Gaza intensifies, many in New York feel personally affected by the conflict.

There have been rallies, demonstrations and lots of discussions. Brooklyn Palestinian, Lena Alhusseini, says it's an unwinnable situation.

ALHUSSEINI: I'm a mother, I would hope my community which I guess would be like New York, would say let's just stop violence on both sides. Let's really value everybody and let's stop this loss of life.

REPORTER: Alhusseini says she would consider participating in a march or rally that focused on denouncing the violence.
