Marching Their Way to Washington

The Brooklyn Steppers Join Inaugural Parade

Friday, January 16, 2009

On January 20th, thousands of performers will march past President-elect Barack Obama in the Inaugural parade--the Brooklyn Steppers take their place among them. The marching band hails from Bed-Stuy and is led by band director Tyrone Brown.

This will be the bands first inaugural performance, something the band decided as soon as they knew Obama had won the electoral vote. The Brooklyn Steppers will be one of 90 groups invited to Washington.
