Wednesday, February 25, 2009

New Jersey Senator Robert Menendez is praising President Obama's speech, which he says showed resolve, focus and optimism.

Menendez says the President showed he understands the challenges facing the country and has a comprehensive plan to address them.

MENENDEZ: He made it very clear that the only way we're going to restore America's economic strength is to make long-term investments in energy, healthcare and education that will lead to new jobs and new industries and a renewed ability to compete with the rest of the world.

REPORTER: Menendez also praised the federal stimulus package, which he says will provide or save 100,000 jobs in New Jersey over the next two years.
