Bedbug Avisory Board

In the battle against bedbugs, a possible new ally. The City Council is proposing the creation of a Bedbug Advisory Board, to help New Yorkers fight the pests. City Council speaker Christine Quinn says the board would include an entomologist, or bug scientist, and an exterminator.

QUINN: It's not the final nail in the coffin of bedbugs, it's kind of the first nail in the coffin of bedbugs in our city.

More than 9,000 people sought bedbug advice from the city's 311 information line, a 34 percent increase in such calls.
