One-Year Anniversary for Gov Paterson

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Today's not only Saint Patrick's Day. It also marks one year in office for Governor David Paterson. After Eliot Spitzer resigned over a prostitution scandal, Paterson was sworn in as New York's 55th governor. And today, he took a moment to reflect on what's been a tumultuous year.

PATERSON: Well, like any other anniversary it's a new beginning, and we're in the midst of a budget crisis which is right where we were last year, and so if everyone works as hard as they can and cooperates maybe we'll have some pretty good results in a few weeks.

Paterson’s ride has been bumpy, but he says he hopes for better times ahead as year two of his governorship begins. Karen DeWitt has this look back at the Governor's first year in office.
