President Obama has nominated New York Republican Congressman John McHugh as Secretary of the Army

MCHUGH: John understands personally and deeply the sacrifices our soldiers and their families make everyday. Just ask the soldiers he's always fought for in his district at Fort Drum. Home to the legendary 10th Mountain Division. The most deployed division in the U.S. Army.

McHugh has represented the northern New York district since 1993, and is ranking GOP member of the House Armed Services Committee.
