New York, NY –
Five states, including New York and New Jersey, have formed a working group to protect the waters between Montauk and the Chesapeake. Governors Paterson and Corzine inked a pledge today to cooperate on issues like conservation and fisheries. Governor Corzine says the new multi-state group will speed the way for new offshore energy projects.
New Jersey fully expects to have 3,000 megawatts of wind power by 2020.
There are already several proposals for wind farms off the Jersey shore, in various states of development.
