Skelos: Paterson Lacks Authority to Name Lieutenant

Long Island Republican Senator Dean Skelos, in a response to the governor's announcement, said he agreed with state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo that Paterson lacks the constitutional authority to appoint a Lieutenant Governor. And he said the real crisis was one of taxing and spending by Democrats.

SKELOS: The crisis peaked a month ago when democrats and republicans in the state senate said enough is enough. Something dramatic had to happen.

REPORTER: Skelos led a coup against the Senate's Democratic leadership a month ago today.
