2 Walk Away From Fiery Small Plane Crash in NJ

Friday, August 21, 2009

A small plane crashed while trying to land at New Jersey's Teterboro Airport early this morning. The two people aboard survived and managed to walk away from the fiery wreckage.

A police officer, who was among the first to respond to the scene, said he was taken aback to find the men alive, sitting at the curb of a bus stop, and talking after the crash.

The two men suffered burns and were taken to area hospitals.

Police say the plane was carrying blood specimens for a laboratory near Teterboro, when it crashed just after 3 o'clock this morning. Federal Aviation Administration officials are investigating.
