Second Zazi Classmate Faces Terrorism Charges

Saturday, January 09, 2010

A second Queens man linked to terrorism suspect Najibullah Zazi was expected in federal court Saturday. Adis Medunjanin was arrested yesterday after he caused a traffic accident while attempting to flee federal agents. His former Flushing High School classmate, Zarein Ahmedzay, has pleaded not guilty to a charge that he lied to the FBI about trips to Pakistan and Afghanistan. The two men were first linked to the investigation in September, when authorities raided their homes shortly before the arrest of fellow high school classmate Najibullah Zazi, who worked more recently as an airport shuttle driver in Colorado. He's pleaded not guilty to charges that he was plotting to attack New York with homemade bombs.
