Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Alanna Nash talks about her interests after appearing on The Leonard Lopate Show.

What have you read or seen over the pas year that moved or surprised you?
I'm editing a memoir by a 75-year-old first-time writer about growing up in Depression-era Appalachia.  Sometimes amateur writers get emotion on the page way better than professionals.  Her prose makes me weep!
What are you listening to right now?
Brandi Carlile and Miles Davis -- not playing together, of course!
What's the last great book you read?
The Bible.
What's one thing you're a fan of that people might not expect?
Silent movies.
If you only had one day left, how would you spend it in New York City?
Visiting my alma mater, Columbia J School, and saying thanks.
