What have you read or seen lately (book, play, film, etc.) that moved or surprised you?

Paul Auster, The Book of Illusions - beautifully written and historically smart novel, Thomas Merton essays and poems for when I need to retreat from the wonk-a-day world.       

What are you listening to right now?

Joni Mitchell (always), Michael Hall albums, 101 Crustaceans

What’s the last great book you read?

Auster: The Book of Illusions

What’s one thing you’re a fan of that people might not expect?

Shape-note singing from the Sacred Hamp song book.

If you only had one day left, how would you spend it in New York City?
